Moving Distractions are Costly

Distractions are a bane to steady progress, especially during repetitive chores like packing. When people get distracted during the packing process, days andeven weeks can be added to the moving process itself. The truth is htat packing can be boring, and your brain is going to want to use that downtime to think up interesting stuff. When you come across some of your child’s 2nd grade artwork, chances are you are going to want to stop and admire it for a while, maybe even reorganize it a bit. Don’t.

Pack Right, Pack Efficient!

Your job right now is to pack your home. You will help keep it organized by labeling your moving boxes accordingly, which will in turn help you reorganize things like this later, when you have the time, in your new home.

Another costly distraction that many people fall into while packing is to start adding a wax coat to furniture that “just looks a bit dusty.” After all, it is easy to put a shine on that furniture quickly and you’re there anyway, so why not? While a tempting time to spruce your furniture, the fact is that applying a heavy coat of wax to your furniture before the move can cause some problems. A pad or a blanket can leave marks in the newly redone finish, in addition to the fact that wax can also become slippery, resulting in an accident, injury, or damage to the piece.

Keep your move organized and efficient. When time is an issue try to keep distraction to a minimum!
