Moving Truck Rental Packing

If you have opted for the incredible cost savings that come with a Moving Truck Rental, then you may already be well prepared and experienced in loading and driving a rental truck, but if you are not, loading a moving truck can be a daunting task for the novice first-timers. Many clients choose a rental truck to save on costs, but remember that, after renting the vehicle, you are responsible for packing and loading the truck themselves as well as driving it to your new location.

The first hurtle, however, is packing the truck itself.

Packing Your Moving Truck Rental

Gather your supplies before loading your moving truck rental. Make sure that you have plenty of moving pads, blankets, bubble wrap, cardboard and other packing materials on hand before you start to load.

Use the packing materials that you have, naturally. Loose cushions from sofas, loveseats and chairs, pillows and quilted blankets should be placed in large plastic bags and can then serve as perfect pads between furniture to prevent rubbing. Load your items as tight as possible to prevent shifting, rubbing or puncturing during transit.

Space means shifting and shifting means crushing and breaking. Do not leave empty spaces between boxes and your furnishings as space between items will allow them to move and shift, sometimes violently while transporting.

Load your heaviest appliances first and place them on the floor against the front wall of the truck. Load sofas on end, in the right or left corners of the front wall of the trailer and secure them in place with large heavy boxes or appliances.

With these handy Moving Truck Rental packing tips, you’ll be ahead of the game already.
