Moving Tips to Use
Moving tips are one of the most accessed parts of any moving advice website, blog or column. While some people view moving tips in the same vein as asking for directions, most consumers agree that it makes sense to get advice from the experts and make moving and packing that much easier.
Moving Tips for Quick and Efficient Packing
- Keep space in the box. If you don’t keep some empty air in the box, you won’t be able to allow for packing/stuffing materials to absorb impact. Also, you will probably end up with boxes that you can’t carry or shift, requiring you to unpack half the items into another box last minute.
- Use the right equipment. If you use boxes that aren’t meant for moving, you may have only about a 50/50 chance of making it through the move with your items undamaged. Use professional moving boxes, however, and your items are going to arrive in one piece.
- Labeling your boxes to avoid costly time and effort locating “just that one thing.” The mystery box is the nemesis of people moving, but you can avoid that entire costly scenario if you take the extra effort to label your boxes.
- Bigger boxes don’t mean you can over stuff. Truthfully, the bigger the box, the more tempting it is to load stuff into it but that usually results in damage to the box, the contents, and most likely, your back. The sides of the box should not bulge, but they shouldn’t cave in, either.
